City Rose Releases New Single 'Crackling Amber'

Sydney based post-punk outfit City Rose have just released 'Crackling Amber', the second single from their forthcoming self-titled EP, due for release later this year.

The track was produced and engineered by TimEbandit Powles (best known for his work with legendary Australian space rockers The Church), recorded and mixed at Spacejunk III, and mastered by Don Barley of Benchmark Mastering.

Clearly a crowd favourite at the band's live shows, 'Crackling Amber' is a shocking detonation - its ever-increasing tempo and unhinged vocals alluding to the solitude and anguish of its author(s). You can listen to the track here.

Despite taking inspiration from Crime and The City Solution, Rowland S Howard and Scott Walker’s latest music, the band does not want to be confined to a particular sound.

Bassist Pat McCarthy notes, "We have a very ambitious idea of one day having a collective of people who contribute to what City Rose are doing. Brass, strings... I guess you could say we want to be without limits. Our goal for City Rose is similar to that of the goal we hold for ourselves individually: progression".

City Rose is Andrew Exten, Pat McCarthy, Hunter Auzins and Lucy Howroyd. The band will launch their second single, 'Crackling Amber', on the 15th of June at Waywards, The Bank Hotel Newtown.
